Founded in 2016 by Clarkson University entrepreneur Garrett Kopp, Birch Boys is an Adirondack-based functional mushroom company specializing in sustainably harvested wild chaga and other wellness products sourced from regional forests. Headquartered in Tupper Lake, New York, the company produces teas, tinctures, extracts, and mushroom powders sold nationwide through e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and regional retail partnerships. What began as a small startup has grown into a vertically integrated business with national reach, more than 100 wholesale accounts, and a growing omnichannel presence. Birch Boys continues to expand its production, digital sales, and distribution capabilities while remaining committed to sustainable harvesting practices and supporting the Adirondack economy.

Point Positive initially provided Birch Boys with a $10,000 startup loan to help purchase tea-bag manufacturing equipment, along with significant mentorship, strategic guidance, and access to additional business resources. Since then, Point Positive members have continued to support the company through multiple rounds of investment and advisory involvement, including participation on Birch Boys' Board of Directors alongside Point Positive Coordinator Melinda Little.
